Wholehearted for Headship
A new one day programme for women aspiring to headship
There are many women who have great potential – but who do not see themselves as potential headteachers. The day will shift perceptions by providing opportunities for delegates to:
- extend their existing knowledge and understand more clearly the role of headship
- strengthen their belief in themselves as potential headteachers
- make a personal commitment to planning the next steps
During the day we analyse the job of Headship and dispel some of the myths; we identify the personal and professional requirements for the job and assess how each participant can contribute. It inspires, encourages, motivates and increases confidence.
The course incorporates the designing of individual action plans, which will complement and extend those already developed within NPQH. Follow-up will be planned to ensure that each delegate is encouraged and supported to continue into headship.
Who for
This course is for women deputy heads, assistant heads or senior managers, for whom headship is their next career step. Participants will have experience of NPQH. This is an active and practical day that helps and equips you to achieve your first headship.
Led by Meg Maunder and Eve Warren, the day also features successful women head teachers, who share their experiences and insights, and support delegates’ learning. Participant numbers are limited to 24.
